Born in Green Bay, Joe is the third of five children. He is a lifelong resident of Green Bay, and a graduate of Notre Dame Academy.
Joe has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in Sociology and an Associates degree from Worsham College in Wheeling, Illinois. He is also in the midst of pursuing his Masters degree in management from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
Joe is an active member of First United Methodist Church, the Sons of Bosses, the Current: Young Professionals Network, the Group Purchasing Board (Green Bay Chamber of Commerce) and has worked on the Downtown HYPE Project. He has also been active in coaching 5th grade basketball at Martin Elementary School, S.A.Y. soccer, Special Olympics, and the Green Bay Southwest basketball teams.
Joe's wife Kate is a fantastic special education teacher at Franklin Middle School. She has been named a Teacher of Distinction and has been nominated for the Golden Apple Awards every year she has taught.
Joe and Kate currently live on the east side with their daughter Neela and their two dogs.
