Malcore Funeral Homes & Crematory, Green Bay

Traditional funeral services allow for the public to come into the funeral home and/or church and pay their respects to the deceased and their family. Most people who come to a visitation and funeral never knew the deceased, but are coming to pay their respects to the family. For this reason many people decide to have visitation in the funeral home in the evening prior to the funeral. Due to work schedules and out-of-town travel, this is most often most convenient for friends and extended family.

When arranging a traditional funeral, there are many decisions that need to be made by the family. Some of the following ideas will have to be considered when arranging the funeral with our staff:

-Would the family like to have the visitation and funeral all in one day, or visitation the night prior and continuing the next day until the time of the funeral?

-Would the family like to have a procession to church following visitation at the funeral home?

-Does the family wish to process to the cemetery and witness the entombment or burial?

-Are their any songs that were meaningful to be played during the visitation or service.

-Does the family want to have a luncheon at church, at a restaurant, or in the funeral home. Some churches have facilities available for food to be catered in after the funeral. Our west side funeral home is the only funeral in Green Bay to have a lunch room on site. Our facility can accomodate up to 100 people, is convenient for out of town guests. Food is catered in or can be brought in by the family.

-Would the family like the military or any fraternal organizations to take part in the funeral? The military can provide services such as presentation of the flag, playing taps, and/or a gun salute.
