Beatrice A. DeBaker

February 14, 1924 — December 16, 2015

Beatrice “Gramma Bea” DeBaker, 91, Green Bay, peacefully passed away Wed. Dec. 16, 2015, at home. Born Feb. 14, 1924, in Green Bay, she is the daughter of the late William and Mary (Vincent) Gillis. Beatrice graduated from East High School. She was a former member of St. Agnes Church and a current member of St. Patrick Church. Over the years, Bea cared for many children in her home, some from shortly after their birth until they went to school full time and she still has a box of toys at home, “just in case”. She enjoyed doing “word finds”, watching game shows, reading magazines and playing cards. Beatrice was a very kind and caring person at heart and was loved by everyone who met her. Bea never forget to send birthday cards and would always put others before herself.

Beatrice is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Joyce and Clinton Gereau of Hobart and Carol DeBaker of Oconto and their father, Edsel (Dorothy) DeBaker of Oconto Falls; four grandchildren, Julie (Scott) Barnes, Andrew (Kelley) Gereau, Greg (Christine) McGuire and Beth Gereau; six great-grandchildren; brother, William Gillis, Jr. of Green Bay; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Willie McGuire; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Elmer (Elaine) Gillis, Walter (Eileen) Gillis, and Rita Gillis; and grandson-in-law, Richard “Dick” Corcoran.
