Carol J. Petasek, 91, Green Bay, went to heaven Thursday morning, April 4, 2024, while at a local nursing home. Born April 13, 1932, in Green Bay, she is the daughter of the late Ralph, Sr. and Edna (Kyles) Unsin. Carol married Robert "Bob" J. Petasek, Sr. on February 16, 1952 at Saints Peter and Paul Church, and he preceded her in death on February 15, 2008, following nearly 56 years of marriage. She was a long-time member of Saints Peter and Paul Church. Carol had a life-time passion for flowers and enjoyed working with her aunt and uncle at North Side Floral. In her later years she found comfort in knitting slippers and donating hundreds to local hospitals and others. Carol will be remembered for her talent of cooking and baking, her chicken Booyah was well received by all. She was an avid Packer fan. Carol's pride and joy were the many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who would cause her to light up in their presence.
Carol is survived by five children and their spouses, Bob, Jr, of Green Bay, Beatsy and Steve Duchateau of Suamico, Steve and Karen of Pound, Mark and Teri of Prescott Valley, AZ, and Andy and Sheila of Green Bay; son-in-law, Tom (Jane) Plog, Sr. of Green Bay; daughter-in-law, Shirley Petasek of Green Bay; grandchildren, Nicole (Jose) Sepulveda, Zach (Kiley) and Josh Duchateau, Adam (Lindsey) Petasek and Krista (Greg) Makos, Matt (Becky) Petasek and April Petasek, Tom (Savannah) Plog, Jr. and Kaylee (James ) Michiles, Ross Petasek, Meagan Serwe; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Gloria Alberts, Kathy LaCrosse, Charlotte Miller; sisters-in-law, Shirley Anderson, Ethel Helgerson, Clara Petasek and Clarice Petasek; brother-in-law, Clarence Petasek; her close cousin, Julie Ann Drais; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband, Bob; one daughter, Deanna Plog; son, Scott Petasek; also preceded by her brother, sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters -in-law.
Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird Street, Friday , April 12, 2024, from 9am until the time of the funeral. Funeral Mass, 11am Friday at Saints Peter and Paul Church. Burial in Fort Howard Memorial Park.
