Dale "Ziggy" Zehren, 84, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many, passed into eternal life on January 25, 2025. He was the fourth child of Leo and Leona (Kuipers) Zehren and was born on October 8, 1940. Dale graduated from Preble High School in 1959 and went on to serve his country in the Army Reserve. Dale married the love of his life Sandie Berken on June 22, 1963.
Early in his career Dale worked for Hansen’s Dairy delivering milk until he joined the Allouez Street Department for 28 years. He retired in 2003 to enjoy his cottage near Crivitz, and spend countless hours fishing on his favorite lake with Sandie. He also enjoyed the peaceful views of the bay and the abundance of wildlife in his backyard. An avid hunter, fisherman and gardener, Dale was happiest when he was outdoors in nature and his hands were in the soil.
Survived by his loving wife of 61 years Sandie Zehren; daughters Lori (Murphy) Milburn; Lisa (Kurt) Habeck, children Kody (Stephanie) and Zak; Lynn Quissek, children Everett and Victoria; Jolee (Jeff Norman) Zehren; Jennifer (Chris) Elias, children Caden and Kellen; brother Leroy (Duane) Zehren; Sister-in-law Jan Zehren. He is further survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ron Zehren and Marty (Ihla) Zehren.
Special thanks to LaDonna (“Mama D”), Nicee, all the wonderful staff at Allouez Parkside Village, and Moments Hospice who lovingly cared for Dale over the past few years.
