Del Brys

August 4, 1940 — November 28, 2022

Our beloved "Del" left this world unexpectedly on November 28, 2022. Born in 1940 to the late Gerard "Jerry" and Dolores (nee Reiland) Brys, Del grew up on a farm in the town of De Pere where he said he worked so hard he could play his entire adult life. He was a proud graduate of St. Norbert High School as a member of the class of 1958. Del married the late Gloria "Peachy" Schwade in 1961 and had two daughters, Kathy and Karen. He worked for NCR for 30 years, retiring at the age of 53; He later worked part time at the YMCA and Bellin repairing life style equipment. Del always wanted to stay busy, and he last worked at TJ Maxx where he was known as the lamp man. He took great pride in his garden, having flowers for all seasons. His yard was the prettiest on the street. In 2006 Del married Susan Moody-Selissen and they were happily wed for the last 16 years. Del and Sue enjoyed playing in many golf tournaments together. He never stopped golfing and even won the golf championship at Royal Scott in 2022, where he had been a member for many years. Along with golf, he loved playing pool. He was in two leagues, plus played every Monday at Cropseys. Del was very competitive and played pool and golf for fun but only had fun if he won.

He will be truly missed by his wife, Sue; daughters, Kathy (Anthony) Herbert, and Karen Warn; stepson, Brandon (Jennifer) Selissen; grandchildren Justin Herbert, Michelle (Nathan) Kline, Jared and Tyler Warn; step grandchildren, Ian, Owen, and Grace; sister, Junella; brothers, Delford (Pai) and Daryl.

Del was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lloyd and Lyle and first wife Gloria; sisters in law, Susan Brys, Priscilla Brys, and brother in law, Merlin Smits.
