Donald J. Campshure, 88, Green Bay, died peacefully, Thursday, November 28, 2024. Born in Green Bay, August 8, 1936, he is the son of the late Howard and Esther (DeLeers) Campshure. After graduating from Central Catholic High School in 1954 he worked for DeLeers Construction. Don served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956-1958. On September 15, 1962 he married Joan Loritz at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church where he was a lifelong member. He was employed by Wisconsin Public Service for 30 plus years, retiring in 1999. Don was a blood donor and Red Cross volunteer. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed a good steak dinner on Saturday night, relaxing at home with his wife and family, spending time with his granddaughters and grandson-in-law, listening to music (especially the Marine Corps Band), reading, and gardening -- and took great pride in a perfectly cut lawn. Don was also an enthusiastic fan of the Green Bay Packers and enjoyed attending games at Lambeau Field.
He will be missed by his children, Michael, Patrick (Lisa), and Lori; granddaughters, Katie Campshure, and Lauren (Benjamin) Moore; brother, Ken (Beth) Campshure of Fond du Lac; sister-in-law, Lill Loritz; brother-in-law, Jim (Carol) Loritz, sister-in-law Jane (Al) Rentmeester, all of Green Bay; further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Joan; daughter-in-law, Cheri; his parents, and special mother-in-law and father-in-law, Leonard and Rose Loritz; brother-in-law, John Loritz.

When God created fathers, He had some things in mind, He had to be warm and strong, And funny, smart and kind, And brave and understanding too, All of these things combined. Of all the fathers on God’s great earth. . . I feel so blessed that you are mine. Dad and Grandpa, “rest easy”. We love you. “Hail Mary” and “Amen!”
