Erma E. Klaus, 91, Green Bay, passed away Wed. morning, July 20, 2016, at a local nursing home. Born January 30, 1925, in Green Bay, she is the daughter of the late Felix and Ursula (Ferron) Monfils. Erma married Gerald P. Klaus on October 20, 1951, at SS. Peter and Paul Church and he preceded her in death on July 16, 1992. Erma was an avid bowler and was inducted into the Green Bay Bowlers’ Hall of Fame. She loved playing Bingo, from local churches to the casino, along with card playing. Erma will be remembered for spending her summers with family and friends at White Potato Lake.
Erma is survived by three children, David (Jean) Klaus, Jane (Gerald “Fonz”) Prevost, and Richard (Donna) Klaus; daughter-in-law, Karen Klaus; grandchildren, Vicki (Nick), Amy, Kevin (Shery), Shawn (Jessica), Paul (Megan), Michelle (fiance’ Mark), Chris, Alex, Amanda and John; great-grandchildren, Clayton, Emma, Kevin Jr., Sean, and Ashley; brother, Edwin Monfils; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Gerald; son, James Klaus; infant grandson, Jason Klaus and grandson, Mark Hatfield; brother, Alvin (Gertie) Monfils; brothers-in-law, Raymond (Sally) Klaus and Wayne (Evelyn) Klaus; sister-in-law, Joan Monfils; and step-brothers and sisters.
Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird Street, Friday from 4-8pm. Parish wake service 7pm Friday at the funeral home. Visitation continues Saturday at the funeral home from 9am until the time of the funeral. Funeral Mass 10:30am Saturday at SS. Peter and Paul Church with the Rev. Msgr. James B. Feely officiating. Burial in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
