Ervin V. Prosser, age 89, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Thursday, August 16, 2018. He was born December 28, 1928 in Green Bay to the late Ervin and Mildred (Larsen) Prosser. Erv was a graduate of Green Bay West High School with the class of 1946. In November of 1950, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. Erv worked for 40 plus years with Gold Bond Ice Cream Co in Green Bay and spent 50 plus years as owner, with his wife Katie, of Prosser’s Candies. On February 12, 1955, Erv married Kathryn “Katie” Carpiaux. Together they celebrated 62 years of marriage. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed going to his children’s, grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s events. Known as a jack of all trades, Erv was always willing to help family and friends with any projects. He was also very proud that he was an Eagle Scout.
Erv is survived by three children: Marc (Sheri) Prosser, Becky (Steve) Hebel and Amy (Robert) Smith; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Erv was preceded in death by his loving wife, Katie; two children, Jeff Prosser and Candi Doherty; a grandson, Nicholas Hebel; his parents, Ervin and Mildred Prosser; and his sister, Shirley Westergaard.
Family and friends are invited to visit at Malcore (West) Funeral Home, 1530 W. Mason St, Green Bay, on Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. A Celebration of Life for friends and family will take place Sunday, August 26th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lenny's Tap, 431 N. Broadway, Green Bay.
