Frances L. Guelette, 100 of Green Bay, took her walk on the stairway to heaven on Monday, August 23, 2021, at Green Bay Health Services with her family by her side. She was born to the late John and Theresa (Kumbera) Martin on March 25, 1921 in Luxemburg, WI. She was united in marriage to Howard Kaster on July 18, 1939 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Luxemburg. He preceded her in death on January 1, 1956. She then married Lenard Guelette on August 12, 1958 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
Frances attended school through the 8th grade and helped out on the family farm until her marriage to Howard. She and Lenard owned and operated the Rodeo Bar in Green Bay for 25 years and she also waitressed at Al’s Steakhouse and McCall Supper Club to help support her family. Frances retired from Bellin Hospital in 1983 after working there for 15 years.
She enjoyed needlework, watching the Packers, dressing up for Halloween, playing cards with her card club and tending to her flowers. She loved spending time in Door County with the girls and a long drive in the country, especially around her childhood area. Frances loved her old fashions, a Good Friday Fish fry, and an ice cold Miller High Life. She was very family oriented and was known to be the glue that held everyone together and was the most selfless person they had come to know.
Left to cherish Frances’s memory are her children, Dennis (Susan) Kaster, Rodney (Cindy) Kaster, Janice Tucker, Susan (Jerry) Jensen, Lynda (George) Hodgkins and Christine (special friend Tim Brooks) Larsen; twenty grandchildren, forty-three great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. Many nieces, nephews, and Godchildren further survive her. Her parents; two husbands, Howard Kaster and Lenard Guelette; son, David Kaster; and her nine siblings preceded her in death.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held for Frances at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 27, 2021 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church (710 N. Baird St. Green Bay). Fr. Jose Lopez will officiate. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Frances will be laid to rest in the Wall of Honor at the Allouez Catholic Cemetery; by her husband Lenard.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Bellin Hospital Nurses and to the staff of Unity Hospice, Moraine Ridge Assisted Living and Green Bay Health Services for all the love, care and compassion that they gave to Frances.
