Gary D. Verheyden, 70, Green Bay, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 3, 1950, in Green Bay, son of the late Dale and Jackie (VerDoot) Verheyden. Gary graduated from West High School in 1968. He married Vicki Kainz on September 19, 1970 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. He worked for Packerland/JBS Packing for over 40 years, retiring in 2016. He was known as the "Beer Guy" at Packer games, where he started as an usher at Lambeau Field. Gary loved going to all his grandchildren's sporting events. Gary enjoyed going to concerts, taking his grandchildren and daughter, Stacy, to stock car races, his weekly check-in with his wife at "Some Place Else" for a beer, and Saturday breakfasts at Julie's Cafe with his grandkids.
He be will deeply missed by his loving wife of 50 years, Vicki; 3 daughters, Lori Budreau, Jenni (Brian) Baker, and Stacy Verheyden; 5 grandchildren: Merry, Jordyn, Taylor, Payton, and Issac; 1 great-granchild, Maxwell, and one grand "fur baby" Otis; 1 brother, Craig (Cindy) Verheyden; sisters, Pam (Chuck) De Moulin and Sandy (Victor) Tomesek; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by infant son, Gary; sister and brother-in-law, Debbie (John) Nichols; son-in-law, Charlie Budreau; father and mother-in-law, Burt (Arlene) Kainz; and brother-in-law, Keith Kainz.
Family and friends may visit Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St., on Monday, March 1, 2021, from 2 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 4 p.m. Monday at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 710 N. Baird St. Entombment will be in Allouez Catholic Mausoleum.
The family extends a warm thank you to Dr. Nirav Patel, Meghan McHugh, and all of the staff at Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic, for all the kindness and compassion shown to Gary and his family.
