Gerald G. Marcelle, 89, of Luxemburg, passed away January 7, 2022. Born on February 8, 1932, in Green Bay, he is the son of the late Henry and Eunice (Charles) Marcelle. Gerald was a graduate of Brussels High School the Class of 1949. He served our country in the United States Army as a Specialist Third Class, from June 17, 1954 to June 15, 1956. Gerald married the former Betty Lardinois on September 29, 1956 at Cathedral. He worked at Hub Charles Sand and Gravel while helping to run his grandparents farm, a security guard at American Concrete, Luxemburg Manufacturing Co., co owned M and R Builders Supply with John Rueckl and at St. Mary's Hospital in receiving. Gerald volunteered for the Kewaunee County Council on Drug Abuse, Property Management Committee for Lac Baie Council, and the Luxemburg Fire Dept. for 8 years. He was a former member of St. Joseph's in Champion where he served as head of building and grounds, usher, and was a social committee member. Gerald was the President of the Hobby Greenhouse Club of Green Bay. He donated 87 pints of blood to the American Red Cross. He enjoyed many years remodeling the family home as well as gardening, and many woodworking projects. Gerald enjoyed photography many times working as the family photographer at family and friend events. Gerald enjoyed working on small engines doing automotive work and building birdhouses.
Gerald is survived by his wife of sixty five years, Betty; children, Deann (Jeff) Malcore, Heidi (Christopher) Bader, Gena Geise, and Tammy (Larry) Whittemore; eight grandchildren, Kelly Malcore and Paul Malcore and special friend (Serena), Trevor Bader and Dakota Bader, Alex (Breanna) Giese and Jared Geise, Joshua (Danielle) La Crosse and Jordan La Crosse; six great grandchildren, Lily Plesha and Luna Plesha, Mallory La Crosse and Bridget La Crosse, Alayah Giese and Eli Geise; half brother, Leland Marcelle and special friend Sandy; half sisters, Leatrice Naze, and Lu Forstner; nieces and nephews, Eric, Natalie, Darcy, Tracy, Jeff; feline friends, Pepsi, Tuffy, Suzie Q, and Winnie.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jule and Lucy Charles, and parents, Henry and Eunice Marcelle; one infant son, Gerald Paul; special Aunt, Emerence Charles; uncle, Henry Engelbert, Hubert Charles; son-in-law, Tom Geise; mother in law, Vernal DeRooast; feline friend, Fred.
Visitation at St Mary's in Luxemburg, 1406 Main St. Friday January 14, from 9:00 AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. Burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Luxemburg with full military honors.
