Helen (Koeller) Bardwell, 69, Green Bay, passed away while surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer, Thursday evening, March 31, 2022, at a local care facility. Born November 22, 1952, in Green Bay, she is the daughter of the late Ralph Koeller, Jr. and Geraldine (Millhiser) Koeller. Helen attended St. Patrick's grade school and is a graduate of West High School, Class of 1971. She married Craig Bardwell and shared many years of marriage and together raised two daughters, Cassy and Christy. Helen had worked for the Green Bay Public Schools for over 38 years starting as a noon hour supervisor. She finished her career, retiring as a Para at MacArthur Elementary School in 2021, a place where she truly loved her job and the staff over the many years.
Helen was a Girl Scout leader, crafter and enjoyed Christmas bulbs. She truly enjoyed her many excursions with her girls and being a "Nana".
Helen is survived by her two daughters, Cassandra Patske and Christy Bardwell; her very special granddaughter, Soraya Burks; the father of her daughters, Craig Bardwell; two sisters, Sue Jorgensen, Antioch, IL, and Stacey (Mike) Cullian, Crystal Lake, IL; brother, Robin (Lynn) Koeller, Green Bay; her second mom, Janice (Dave) Hill, Crystal Lake, IL; godsons, Jason Bardwell and Andrew Steffel; godmother, Helen Coonen, Green Bay; special aunt, Jo Millhiser Kumbalek, Green Bay; along with many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; brother-in-law, William "Bill" Jorgensen; and two special black labs, Dixie and Shadow.
Gathering time at Malcore (West) Funeral Home, 1530 West Mason Street, Saturday, April 16, 2022, from 11am until the time of the service. Memorial service, 2:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
