Irene Santos of Green Bay, Wisconsin passed away Sunday, October 6, 2019 at 51 years old after battling cancer. Irene was born in San Juan, Texas, July 29, 1968. She was a kind, caring, loving, and fierce mother, grandmother, and friend. Irene loved spending time fishing and cooking with her sons and grandchildren; her rice, fideo, and fry-bread were legendary. She was an avid bingo player with her mother, Manuela and sister, Karen; Irene was a Madonna look-a-like in her younger years and loved dancing and singing to ‘80s music.
She is survived by her parents George Santos (Laura Santos) and Manuela (Soto) Michael (Ron Michael); her three sons Rex Narvaez (Bethany Thyes), Kenneth Ninham III (Ashleigh Rozek), and Levi Reyes; grandchildren, Isabella Hyde, Kendrick and Mila Ninham; her sister, Karen Reyes (Edelmiro Reyes), and brothers, George Jr. Santos, Christopher Santos (Tammy Santos), Carlos Santos (Kate Farley), and Stephen Michael. Irene will be missed by her boyfriend, Juan Reyes. Irene will be missed by her nieces and nephews: George Santos III, Steven Santos, Lisa Marie Santos, Chiara Santos, and Damian Santos, Sergio Reyes (Ali Fjeldos), Vivian Velazquez (Rogelio Velazquez), James, Scarlett, and Phoenix Reyes; Alexi Agramonte, Chelsey Jones (Joey Maher), Sasha, Dartanyon, Xavior, Maximus, Leonidus, and Rayah Santos.
Irene was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Manuel Soto and his wife Maria Lisa (Garza), and her paternal grandfather Pablo Santos and her paternal grandmother, Dahlia Gamez, and step-grandfather Ezequiel Gamez.
The family would like to thank St. Mary’s staff and the Unity hospice nurses for taking excellent care of Irene and the rest of the family during this extremely difficult time.
