It is with great sadness that the family of James T. Veeser announces his passing on December 11, 2018, at the age of 83 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born May 5, 1935 in Powers, MI, he is the son of the late Edward J. and Margaret M. (Harding) Veeser. In 1962, Jim married the love of his life, Lucille “Lucy” Nicholson, on his birthday. The couple just celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. He had worked at St. Patrick’s Church and Western Lanes prior to his retirement. Jim will fondly be remembered for the love he had for music and history along with his ability to tell a great story.
Jim is survived by his wife, Lucy; a son, Jim (Doris); three daughters, Jacqueline (Bob) Babich, Lois (Randy) Woldt, and Vicki (Troy) Hrabik; nine grandsons, Kevin (Mary), Kyle, Bo, Jordan, Ben, Brandon, Garrett, Baer, and Bryce; a brother, Joe (Bev) Veeser, two sisters, Mary DePas and Lois (Roger) Kell; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leonard and Elmer; and a sister, Kathleen Short.
Visitation at Malcore (West) Funeral Home, 1530 West Mason Street, on Saturday, Dec. 15, from 9am until the time of the service. Memorial service, 11am Saturday at the funeral home with Deacon Jerry Coenen officiating.
Jim’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the caring staff of Unity Hospice for all the special care showered on the entire family.
Due to allergies, the family has requested that no flowers be sent to the funeral.
