Joanne (Van Derven) Collard, 86, life long resident of Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly, August 8, 2017. Born the first baby of January 1, 1931, in Green Bay, she is the daughter of Herman and Sylvia (Van Der Geeten) Van Derven. Joanne graduated from East High School class of ’48. She married Dean Collard on November 12, 1951, at Saints Peter and Paul Church. Joanne worked at the Telephone Company for seven years before becoming a homemaker raising her four sons. She enjoyed spending time at her cottage, flower gardening, hiking, feeding the birds, boating, fishing, and baking.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Dean; sons, Bill Collard of Green Bay, Alan (Debbie) Collard of Mishicot, Mike (Lynn) Collard of Green Bay, and Patrick Collard; sister-in-law, Joanne Hafeman; grandchildren, Karen (Eric) and their children, Kendra and Ethan, Kimberly (Jeremy) and their daughter, Caleigh, Dean (Jackie) and their children, Dominic, Dean Jr., Dawson, and Dexton, David (Tina) and their son, Frank, Deanna and her children, Ryan and Caitly, also grandchildren, Mike Jr, Jacob, Jennifer (Eleazar) and their children Dionicio, and Briseyda, Jessica, Alyssa (Brian) and their son, Brian Jr., and Christopher; three great great grandchildren, Hayden, Jair, and Aliyana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary and Leonard Melnark; brother, James Van Derven; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Donald and Evelyn Collard; brother-in-law, Marvin Hafeman and her in-laws, John and Agnes Collard.
Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St. Friday, August 11, from 4 PM until 8 PM. Parish wake service at 7 PM at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Saturday morning at 9 AM until the procession to Saints Peter and Paul church for the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM.
