Joanne Mae Marchant Stiebs our great traveler and explorer went home to rest on Saturday March 15. Born on April 2, 1946 along with her twin sister Judy to Raymond and Lucille Marchant Enz.
Joanne graduated from Preble high school in 1965. Through the years she had two wonderful companions in her life Hersh Colesen and Emmery Cummings. These relationships led her to travel all the states of America and Puerto Rico. Through her travels she met wonderful people and came home with amazing stories and new friendships. When she could no longer travel she found new things to do. Going to auctions, crocheting blankets and other amazing things that her family will cherish forever. She was a collector of Angels a lover of old country music and Elvis Presley. She took pride in planting her flowers and arranging them around her yard.
Joanne is survived by her mother Lucille Marchant Enz, her sisters Carol Rose, Judy LuMaye and Lou Ann Spice. Her two God daughters Annette Ziemer and Tammy Spice.
And many nieces and nephews.
She now joins in heaven her father Raymond Marchant her daughter Jeanie, brother in laws August LuMaye, James Rose, Harold LuMaye and Anthony Spice.
Visitation at Malcore Funeral Home, 701 N Baird St., Tuesday, March 25, from 2 PM until the time of the service at 6:30 PM.
The family would like to thank the staff at Anna’s house in New Franken for the excellent care she received in the short time she was there.
The staff at Odd Fellows nursing home your amazing staff helped us when we needed it most as a family and we know Joanne enjoyed being there and making new friendships with staff and residents.
To the staff at St. Vincent’s Emergency, thank you! Your amazing staff was so professional and compassionate we could not have asked for anything more.
