John (Jack) Young of Bellevue, age 79, passed on to eternal life on Monday, April 12 with his family at his side following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on December 4, 1941 to the late Cliff and Angeline (Destree) Young. Jack married the love of his life the former Evelyn Maternoski on June 12, 1965. The couple enjoyed spending time at their cottage which Jack built with his Dad. There they enjoyed time spent with their children and grandchildren boating, swimming, water skiing, perch fishing and grilling out. Jack and Evelyn were the 2nd generation owners of Cliff Young and Son Electric. Evelyn passed away on August 17, 2004. Jack retired and sold the family business to their son Ken, who now continues as the 3rd generation.
In 2009 Jack met Marilyn Kibilowski, special friend. Together they enjoyed traveling, family gatherings, sporting events, making Christmas cookies and candy, trips to Bay Beach, the Wildlife Sanctuary and the zoo with his grandkids.
Survived by three sons: Scott (Molly) Young; Ken Young of Green Bay; Bryan (Heather) Young of Minneapolis; 8 grandchildren: Julian, Abby, Sophie, Joey, Ben, Tony, Sam and Aveline; one sister: Mary (Gary) Wennesheimer; one sister-in-law: Marge Laabs and special friend Carl; Brothers-in-law: Roger (Nancy) Maternoski, Joe (Cathy) Maternoski and Cletus Allen; nieces and nephews; and special friend Marilyn Kibilowski.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn, two brothers: Michael Young and infant brother Kenneth; one sister: Lee Ann (John) Laurant; one sister-in-law: Theresa Allen.
Friends may call at Malcore Funeral Home, University Avenue at Baird Street, from 4 – 8 P.M. Thursday, and prior to the funeral on Friday. Funeral 10:30 Friday at SS. Peter and Paul Church with Father Jose Lopez officiating. Entombment in the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
