Lucille Mary Vandertie, 99, Green Bay, went to join her husband, Norman, on Friday afternoon, July 14, 2023, while at a local assisted living facility. Born September 27, 1923, in Misiere, she is the daughter of the late Albert and Nervin Guelette. Lucille is a graduate of Brussels High School. She married Norman Vandertie on February 19, 1941, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Misiere and he preceded her in death on January 22, 2015. Together the couple worked side by side on the family farm for over 20 years. Lucille then went on to work in the meat department of Marchant's grocery store and later worked in the kitchen of Southern Door School. Since Lucille always needed to keep busy, she served as a housekeeper and child care provider. Lucille was a long-time, faithful member of St. Bernard Parish and she loved spending time with her McDonald's coffee gatherings after church. Lucille will be remembered for her skill as a baker, working her vegetable garden, shopping, playing cards and Rummikub. Lucille enjoyed watching the Brewers and Packers. Most especially, she enjoyed her time with all the generations of grandchildren.
Lucille is survived by three children and their spouses, Wendell (Fern) Vandertie, Sturgeon Bay, Wendy (Wayne) Bouchonville, DePere, and Michelle (Ron) Johnson, Green Bay; seven grandchildren, Lori (Mark) Evenson, Kristina Vandertie, Mark Vandertie, Scott (special friend, Erin) Bouchonville, Brent (Megan) Bouchonville, Jeremy (Michelle) Johnson, and Jason Johnson; great-grandchildren, Brittany (fiance' Josh) DeMarb, Kayla (Nathan) Groeschl, Mariah (fiance' Jeremy) Vandertie, Rowen and Liam Bunker, Jackson and Piper Bouchonville, Samantha and Kristen Brobst, and Alexandra and Lily Johnson; great-great-grandchildren, Cruz DeMarb, Kennedy VanFrachen, and Goldie Groeschl; siblings, Fyrn Jilot, Sally Wagner and Gary Guelette; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Norman; sisters, Joanne Guelette, who passed as a child, and Grace Baudhuin; sister-in-law, Karen Guelette; two brothers-in-law, James Jilot and Bill Wagner; and a great-grandson, Matthew Johnson.
