Mark Basten

Mark Basten, 64, New Franken, passed away peacefully, December 11, 2023. Born on November 12, 1959, he is the son of the late Milton and Ila Basten.  He graduated from Preble High School.  Mark farmed for many years and enjoyed attending auctions.  He was known for riding around in his golf cart.  Mark also ran Bee Safe Storage and enjoyed meeting and visiting people who secured space from him.  He enjoyed attending the Kewaunee County Fair and watching his daughter show her animals.  Mark also enjoyed his Oliver Tractor Collection.  

He is survived by  daughter, Melissa; sibling, Cheryl (Leon) Brunner; nephews, Keith (Lisa), Kevin (Tracy), Kyle (Karen); great nieces and nephews; close cousin, Glenn (LaVerne) and close neighbors.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation at Malcore Funeral Home, 701 N Baird, Friday December 15, from 3 PM until the time of the funeral service at 7:30 PM.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr Riedy, and ICU nurse Kate for their compassion at this difficult time.  Also, a special thank you to Mark's neighbors for all their compassionate care.
