Mildred M. “Milly” (Monfils, Servais) Haskins

Heaven gained a beautiful soul on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, when Milly Haskins passed away at the age of 99. The daughter of Constant and Mathilda (Fabry) Monfils, she was born February 4, 1926, in Rosiere, Wisconsin. Milly graduated from Algoma High School at the age of 16, then worked for Wisconsin Public Service for two years. In August 1944, Milly married Antone (Tony) Servais, who preceded her in death on May 16, 1962. Milly was left to raise their seven daughters and one son, and she did so with love, humor and strictness. On December 1, 1978, she married Robert (Bob) Haskins, and welcomed his three children to the family. Bob and Milly enjoyed 39 years together before he passed away in 2017.

Milly worked at Red Owl and Lyndy’s Grocery Stores for 24 years. After retiring, she volunteered with St. Vincent de Paul Society for 30 years.

Her long-time physician said that she lived “with pizzazz.” This was evidenced by her love of dancing–especially the polka and Polish hop, playing cards and doing the daily crossword in the newspaper (well into her 90s).

Milly is survived by seven of her children and her stepchildren: Karen (Joe) Cisneroz, Vicki (Jim) Ward, Teri (Jay) Bartel, Mike Servais, Mary Le Capitaine, Jean (BIll) Fatla, JoAnn Koss, Mark (Dee) Haskins, Lori Haskins and Mike Haskins. She is further survived by her son-in-law Bill Baker, brother-in-law Henry Kleikamp and sister-in-law Shirley Haskins. Also surviving Milly are her 28 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren. Nothing gave her more joy than to welcome a new baby to the family.

Besides her two husbands, Milly was preceded in death by siblings Gertrude Charles, Doris Charles, Alvin Monfils, Norman Monfils, Delia Kleikamp, Rita La Crosse and Clara Monfils; by her daughter Antoinette (Toni) Baker; by granddaughters Shannon Saldana and Amilyn Genz; and by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law from both marriages.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Malcore Funeral Home, 1530 West Mason Street, Green Bay. Visitation from 8:30-11:30 a.m.; service at 11:30 a.m.

The family is very grateful for the excellent care Milly received at Woodside Assisted Living and from Heartland Hospice.

Milly prayed this prayer with her children every night and included it in her hand-written obituary:

“Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray Thee, Lord, my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake, I pray Thee, Lord, my soul to take.” Amen!
