Raymond “Ray” C. Klaus, 91, Green Bay, died peacefully, Sunday, April 3, 2016, at Bishop’s Court. Born in Green Bay, December 25, 1924, he is the son of the late Frank and Georgiana (Martell) Klaus. He served in the Wisconsin Guard. Ray married the former Sally Nickolai on August 14, 1946, in Green Bay and she preceded him in death on November 28, 1997. He worked at Proctor and Gamble for 43 years until his retirement in 1987. Ray had a summer home on the Bay of Green Bay where he enjoyed fishing and times spent with family. He was an avid deer hunter and card player. Ray was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. He loved his activities at Bishops Court.
Ray is survived by his children, Tom Klaus of Athelstane, and Bob (Cyndee) Klaus of Bellevue; 2 grandchildren, Stephanie (Dan) Conway of Denmark and Sara (Ryan) Horkman of De Pere; 7 great grandchildren, Maddy, Tynan, and Delaney Conway, and Nolan, Haiden, Kallen, and Burken Horkman; sister-in-law, Erma Klaus of Green Bay; further by many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life, Sally; son, John Klaus; granddaughter, Melissa Klaus; great grandson, Wilson Horkman; brothers, Gerald and Wayne (Evelyn) Klaus.
Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird Street, Friday from 4:00-8:00 PM. Parish wake service 7:30 PM. Saturday’s visitation will continue from 9:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at Saints Peter and Paul with the Rev. Anthony Cirignani, OFM officiating. Entombment at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
