Richard G. Nelson

Richard G. Nelson of De Pere, Wisconsin, passed away on October 23, 2023, at the age of 77, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Green Bay. He was born on May 27, 1946, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, to his parents, Harold and Margaret (Frisque) Nelson. Richard grew up in Iron Mountain, Michigan, and had two sisters, Judith Querio and Sandra Bridy.

After graduating from Iron Mountain High School, Richard served in the United States Air Force. He was proud of his service and carried his patriotic spirit throughout his life.

Richard worked for Heyerman Printing and later retired from the Shopko Corporation. He was known for his dedication to his job and friendly personality, earning the respect of his colleagues and friends.

In his free time, Richard loved vacationing in Hawaii, watching Green Bay Packers football games, playing cards and spending time with friends and family. He also had a passion for reading, particularly military and history books.

Richard was preceded in death by his mother (Margaret), father (Harold) and sister (Sandra). He is survived by his sister, Judi (Bernard) Querio of Iron Mountain, Michigan, and several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate Richard's life will be held at the Malcore Funeral Home (West), 1530 West Mason St. Tuesday November 7, from 10:30 AM until the time of the memorial service at 12:30 PM. 

Richard's life was marked by his kindness, love of simple pleasures, and devotion to family and friends. He will be missed but remembered fondly for the warmth and laughter he brought into the lives of those who knew him.
