Robert "Bob" L. Simington, 72, passed away Tuesday morning, May 12, 2020, following a courage battle while at a local hospital.
Born in California on October 8, 1947, he is the son of the late Ernie and Mamie Estelle (Smallwood) Simington. Bob faithfully served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. In the mid-1970's, after returning from service, he was involved in an automobile accident that left him with a traumatic brain injury. He was eventually moved to the Green Bay area to be near his sister, Pat, and her husband, Larry. Bob resided at Cottonwood for many years before being relocated to a local group home. While here, he had worked at ASPIRO packaging paper products but most often he made hammocks. He will be remembered for his many activities while living in his group home, especially his enthusiastic singing, greeting every guest with complimentary commentary, and just being a very social man.
