Shimako “Sunny” Brienen, 80, Green Bay passed away April 10, 2013. Born on January 5, 1933, in Kumamoto City, on the island of Kyushu Japan, she is the daughter of Shiyu Yamamoto. She married Lawrence Brienen on January 4, 1955, in Japan, and they had a family of six children and many dogs through the years. He preceded her in death on January 27, 2009. Shimako enjoyed watching football and had a great love for Yorkshire Terriers.
She was survived by her five children, Christopher (Ruth) Brienen of Merrimack, NH, Christine (Michael Kolb) Brienen of Highland Park, IL, Lauren Brienen of Green Bay, Burt (Elke) Brienen of Washington, and Jessica Brienen of Green Bay; one grandson, Connor Lawrence Brienen; six granddaughters, Deborah, Jamie, Christine, Taylor, Tracy, and Krista; pet Yorkie for twelve years, Chesai.
Shimako was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; her father Shiyu and one son Arlen.
Visitation at MALCORE (West) Funeral Home, 1530 W. Mason Street, Friday, from 2 PM until the time of the memorial service at 4 PM.

Shimako’s family loved her very much and will miss her dearly, she was never a burden in any way, and she will live in our hearts forever.
