Shirley A. Lardo, 82, Maribel, died peacefully at a local hospital on Monday, April 24, 2017, with family by her side. Born on March 1, 1935, in Green Bay, she is the daughter of the late Edwin and Athlene (Monfils) Basinski. She was a graduate of Green Bay East High School. On June 7, 1958, she married Melvin G. Lardo, and he preceded her in death on April 18, 2002. Shirley worked at Procter and Gamble until her retirement. She enjoyed playing games on her iPad, watching birds, and doing various crafts.
Shirley is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Tina (Steven) Prue, Green Bay, Wendy Lardo, and Mary Lardo, both of Maribel; six grandchildren, Jennifer Lardo, Amanda, Ashley (fiancée, Dale Vandenbush), Aaron (special friend, Sheryl Droge), and Ann Marie Prue, and Ricky Lardo; one additional “grandchild,” Amber Snedeker; one brother, Edwin Basinski Jr.; one sister, Barbara (Harvey) Roffers; one sister-in-law, Sharon (Richard) De Staercke; special nephew, Michael DeGrand; special niece, Karen Reince; and her granddogs.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one daughter, Jane Marie Lardo; one brother, Harold “Buzz” Basinski; one sister, Patricia DeGrand; one sister-in-law, Charlene Basinski; and one dog, Benji.
Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St., Friday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral. Funeral service 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Bill Burkel officiating. Entombment at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
