Virgil Mary Maccoux

Virgil Mary Maccoux, 91, of Green Bay, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born on August 25, 1933 to the late Ernest and Adele (Baudhuin) Delfosse. Virgil graduated from Brussels High School in 1951. On October 18, 1952, she married Ronald Maccoux at St. Francis Xavier Church in Brussels. Virgil spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was employed by St. Peter & Paul school in the hot lunch program for 20 years, where she would sneak beets into the chocolate cake to get the kids to eat their vegetables. 

Virgil had many activities she enjoyed doing in her free time including crocheting, knitting, playing cards, baking, and spending time with her family. In her later years, she picked up chair yoga and water aerobics, then she learned how to use an iPad and an iPhone. She read 338 books on her iPad over the past 7 years. 

Virgil is survived by her children, Colleen Jordan, Rod (Dawn Fisher) Maccoux, Gerald (Norma) Maccoux, Christine Allen, Roger (Patti) Maccoux, and Correne (Royce) Brown; her 9 grandchildren; her 7 great grandchildren; her 1 great-great grandchild; and her special friend, Sister Claudette.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Maccoux; her parents; her brother and his wife, Robert and Armene Delfosse; and her sons in law, Jimmy Allen and Terry Jordan.

There will be a visitation on Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Malcore East Funeral Home, followed by a Rosary Service at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue Monday morning at the funeral home from 9 am until the time of Mass. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter & Paul Church on Monday, October 21, 2024 at 10:00 AM, followed by an interment at Nicolet Mausoleum.
