William "Bill" J. Davis

William "Bill" Davis, 88, passed away early Sunday morning, December 15, 2024, at a local hospital. Born August 17, 1936, in Green Bay, he is the son of the late Arthur and Eva (Vandeveld) Davis. Bill is a graduate of Green Bay East High School, Class of 1954. Following graduation, he enlisted into the US Air Force honorably serving from 1954 through 1958. Bill then began working with his dad at Davis Shoe Service, eventually becoming the owner. He retired in 2021. Bill met and later married Joanne Larsen on November 23,1963, in Green Bay. She preceded him in death on January 28, 2018. Bill will be remembered for his joy of telling stories of his younger days as well as time in the service. He loved his Packers, including sneaking into City Stadium as a boy. Bill was a proud season ticket holder since 1958 and he was never shy on sharing his opinion about the team. 

Bill is survived by two children, Christine (Chris) Biskner, and Tim (Cindy) Davis both of Green Bay; two grandchildren, Jason and Nicole Biskner; one brother-in-law, Gerald Larsen, Racine; many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joanne; one infant son; brothers, John, James, Eugene Davis; sisters, Patricia Nero and Kathleen Putman; brothers and sisters-in-law. 

Visitation at St. Matthew Church, 130 Saint Matthew Street, Friday, December 20, 2024, from 9am until the time of the funeral. Funeral Mass, 11am Friday at the church with Rev. Robert J. Kabat officiating. Entombment in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum
